The need for objective, third-party information for African cashew industry participants around the world has been expressed clearly in various fora across the continent in recent years. africancashew.com is the response to this need. The international nonprofit organization TechnoServe Inc., with the support of the American people through USAID, the Swiss Government (seco) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), has developed africancashew.com with the assistance of the industry. The management of the site is undertaken by a group of African cashew industry stakeholders drawn from the African Cashew Alliance, a pan-African body established in 2005 with membership from the private sector, public sector and civil society. africancashew.com is designed to represent a broad and diverse African cashew industry stakeholder group and as such encourages active contribution and participation to ensure that it remains a relevant resource for the industry.
